Moon and Stars Play

The day is done now. The bright sun is gone. The sky gets dark. So very dark. Look up, up, up. See the night sky. Here comes the Moon. The big, round Moon. It glows yellow. Like a soft light. The Moon is happy. The Moon smiles. It says, "Hello, night!" Then little Stars peek out. Many little Stars. One. Two. Three. So many small lights. They twinkle, twinkle. They sparkle bright. The Stars are happy. They wiggle. They shine. The Moon sees the Stars. The Stars see the Moon. They are good friends. They like to play. Moon says, "Let's play now." Stars say, "Yes, play!" First, Moon hides. Moon hides behind a cloud. "Where is Moon?" Stars look, look, look. "Peek-a-boo!" Moon pops out. Moon laughs. Stars laugh too. Now, Stars hide. Many Stars hide. They hide behind Moon. "Where are you, Stars?" Moon looks, looks, looks. Moon finds them. "Here you are!" Stars pop out. They play chase now. Moon goes slow. So very slow. The Stars go fast. Zoom, zoom, zoom! They chase Moon. Moon giggles softly. Stars giggle too. The Stars make shapes. A star line. Dot, dot, dot. A star circle. Round and round. Moon makes a big smile. A big moon smile. They all shine bright. So much light. Moon gives light. Stars give light. They share their light. With sleepy earth. They sing a soft song. A quiet hum. Mmm-mmm-mmm. Like a lullaby. For all to hear. They dance in the sky. Spin, spin, spin. Round and round they go. They are so happy. They love to play. With their friend. The kind Moon. The happy Stars. But now it is late. Very, very late. The sky gets sleepy. Moon feels tired. The Stars feel tired too. Moon yawns a big yawn. "Mmm-mm," goes Moon. The Stars blink. Blink, blink, blink. Moon says, "Goodnight, Stars." Stars say, "Goodnight, Moon." They are quiet now. The sky is quiet too. Moon closes eyes. Stars close eyes. It is sleepy time. Time for bed. Shhh. Sleep tight, little one.
