The Little Gingerbread Man

The baker is in the kitchen. She has white flour. She has sweet sugar. She has soft butter. Yum, yum, yummy food. She mixes them all up. She makes a little man. A gingerbread man! Into the warm oven he goes. The oven is hot, hot, hot. The baker waits. She smells a sweet smell. Mmm, yummy, yummy smell. Ding! The oven goes ding. The oven timer rings. The baker opens the oven door. She sees the gingerbread man. He has candy eyes. He has a big smile. He looks so happy! Oh! He is here. The gingerbread man jumps out. He runs away. He runs so fast! "Stop, little man!" calls the baker. "Come back to me!" But the gingerbread man just runs. "Run, run, as fast as you can!" "You cannot catch me!" The baker tries to run. She is slow. The gingerbread man is fast. The gingerbread man runs on. He sees a brown dog. The dog is big. The dog says, "Woof! Woof!" "Little man, stop!" says the dog. But the gingerbread man just runs! "Run, run, as fast as you can!" "You cannot catch me!" The dog tries to run. The dog is slow. The gingerbread man is fast. Look! A big puddle! It is wet, wet, wet. The gingerbread man runs to the puddle. He jumps over it. The water goes "Splash!" The baker stops. The dog stops. They cannot jump. The gingerbread man runs on. He feels so happy! He smiles a big smile. He runs and runs. He stops in the green grass. He takes a little rest. He is happy now. Bye-bye, gingerbread man. He is all done running.
