The story

Hello! Welcome. I am so happy you are here. Today is a special day. Today we are going to hear a story. The story is about two friends. One friend is a big, fuzzy bear. His name is Bear. The other friend is a little, yellow duck. Her name is Duck. Bear and Duck are very best friends. Bear lives in a big, brown cave. Duck lives in a small, blue pond. One sunny morning, Bear woke up. He stretched his arms high. He said, hello sun! Then he walked to the pond. He wanted to see his friend Duck. Duck was swimming in the water. Splish, splash, splish, splash. Duck saw Bear and said, quack, quack! Hello Bear! Bear sat down on the soft green grass. Duck swam to the edge of the water. Bear had a big ball. The ball was red. Bear said, let us play with the ball. Bear rolled the red ball to Duck. The ball went roll, roll, roll. Duck pushed the ball back with her beak. The ball went roll, roll, roll. They played and played. Bear laughed. Duck quacked. They were having so much fun. Then, the wind started to blow. Whoosh, whoosh! The red ball rolled away. It rolled under a big bush. Bear looked at the bush. The bush had many leaves. Bear was too big to go under the bush. He tried to reach, but his paws were too large. Oh no, said Bear. I cannot get the ball. Duck looked at the bush. She was very small. I can help, said Duck. Duck waddled to the bush. She went under the leaves. She found the red ball. She pushed it out with her feet. Kick, kick, kick. The ball came out! Bear was so happy. Thank you, Duck, said Bear. You are a good friend. Duck smiled. You are welcome, Bear. Then, the sun went behind a cloud. It started to rain. Drip, drop, drip, drop. Duck liked the rain. She loved the water. But Bear did not like the rain. His fur got very wet and heavy. Bear felt cold. Duck saw that Bear was sad. She wanted to help her friend. Duck knew a place that was dry. Follow me, said Duck. Duck led Bear to a big tree. The tree had many big leaves. It was like a giant umbrella. Bear sat under the tree. He was dry now. Duck sat with him. They watched the rain fall on the flowers. The flowers were thirsty. The grass was thirsty. Bear felt warm and safe under the tree. Thank you, Duck, said Bear. You helped me stay dry. Bear and Duck sat together for a long time. They talked about their favorite things. Bear liked sweet honey. Duck liked crunchy seeds. Bear liked the big forest. Duck liked the cool water. Even though they were different, they were the best of friends. Soon, the rain stopped. The sun came out again. There was a rainbow in the sky. It had red, orange, yellow, green, blue, and purple. Bear and Duck walked back to the pond. They were tired but very happy. It is good to have a friend, said Bear. It is very good, said Duck. They gave each other a big hug. A big bear hug and a little duck hug. Thank you for listening to our story today. I hope you enjoyed hearing about Bear and Duck.
