Little Dragon Learns to Fly

Pip is a little green dragon. Pip has two small wings. Pip wants to fly up high. Pip stands on the green grass. Pip looks at a red flower. "Look! A red flower!" whispered Pip. A little bird hops on the grass. The bird has two brown wings. "Hello, bird!" said Pip. "Watch me," chirped the bird. The little bird flaps its wings. Flap, flap, flap! Can you flap your wings? <long pause> The bird jumps up. Whee! The bird can fly in the sky. Pip wants to fly too. Pip wiggles his little green tail. Pip shakes his two small wings. Pip flaps his little wings. Flap, flap, flap! Pip jumps up. Thud! Pip falls on the soft grass. Pip feels sad. Big tears roll down his nose. "I cannot fly," whispered Pip. The little bird hops near Pip. "Try again!" chirped the little bird. "Flap, flap, flap!" Pip wipes his nose. Pip smiles a little smile. Pip will try again. Pip stands up tall. Pip wiggles his little toes. Pip shakes his little wings. Can you shake your wings? <long pause> Pip flaps his little wings. Flap, flap, flap! Pip runs fast on the grass. Tap, tap, tap! Pip jumps into the air. Whee! Pip goes up! Pip is in the air! Pip flaps his wings very fast. Flap, flap, flap! The soft wind blows his nose. Pip looks down at the grass. Pip sees the red flower. Pip sees the brown bird. "Look at me!" shouted Pip. "I am flying in the air!" Pip feels happy. Pip has a big, wide smile. Pip floats back down to earth. Flap, flap, flap. Bump! Pip lands on the soft grass. "You did it!" chirped the little bird. Pip sits down in the sun. Pip closes his sleepy eyes. Sleep tight, little dragon.
